On behalf of the Michigan Society of the Sons of the American Revolution (MISSAR), we extend our warmest wishes to all our compatriots, families, and communities for a joyful and meaningful Independence Day.
Today, we celebrate 249 years since our Founding Fathers boldly declared the birth of a new nation—a nation built on the ideals of liberty, justice, and self-governance. July 4, 1776, marked more than a rebellion; it marked the beginning of an enduring experiment in freedom.
As we enjoy time with loved ones, take part in local parades, and watch fireworks light up the Michigan sky, let us also pause to reflect on the incredible sacrifices made by our Patriot ancestors. The freedoms we enjoy today were hard-won by those who stood against tyranny and risked everything for the cause of independence.
MISSAR remains committed to honoring their legacy through education, preservation, and service. Whether it’s commemorating Patriot graves, supporting youth programs, or preserving Revolutionary War history, our mission continues to be inspired by the courage and convictions of 1776.
From all of us at MISSAR, we wish you a safe and patriotic Independence Day. May the flag wave proudly, and may the spirit of 1776 continue to guide and inspire our great nation.
