“Three Grand Blanc Township firefighters and a resident were recognized Tuesday for saving the lives of three men while on a snowmobiling trip last month.”
Firefighters Lyle Knopf, Adam Frank and Dave Bechtel were with Larry Warburton on a snowmobile trip near the village of Curtis in the Upper Peninsula on Feb. 19.
They found out that three men nearby needed help after a fentanyl overdose. Knopf, Frank, Bechtel and Warburton found the men unresponsive and performed CPR. Officials say their actions kept the three overdose patients alive until Michigan State Police and other law enforcement could use Narcan on the men.
The Paul Emery Chapter Color Guardsmen stood proudly as the men were individually presented their national award and certificate. Chapter membership applauded each man’s life saving efforts.
